Recently, I've become interested in acquiring other top-level domains like .TV's and .US's but I'm damped by the cost of these domains. An average of $18 to $20 is the damage for these things. Recently though, Godaddy cheap .US domains are now being sold for only $8.99! Check out their banner below.
Godaddy Promo: Cheap .US domains only $8.99
I'm always out looking for the best deals in buying domain names. Most of my domains are registered at www.GoDaddy.com
because they present relatively better value in terms of pricing and add-ons. My most recent dot com domain buys though have been made through Yahoo Small Business. I've bought about 5 dot coms through them because they're only $1.99 a pop. Right now, no other domain registrar can beat that pricing for new customer registrations. Ofcourse I had to register a new Yahoo account everytime a buy a new domain through them but it's no big deal. If you want the link for the cheap Yahoo domains, you can contact me at buyer at buymedomains dot com and I'll be more than willing to send it to you. I bookmarked it.

Last Day To Register Dot Me Domains!
One great reason to buy a dot me domain is its universal appeal. The 2 biggest languages in the world English, Spanish and Chinese use the word "me" as to express short meaningful sentences. Buy.me, trade.me, love.me and a whole lot more conveys short descriptive ideas which are perfect for marketing. In Spanish, Besa.me means "kiss me." There's a whole lot of combinations to go around even in other languages which use the word me in their language. When buying .me domains, it is important to keep words short and simple which appeals to a larger audience.
Another great reason to buy a .me domain is that it can be a good investment. A great number of people have gone rags to riches because they bought simple word domains like blue.com or ireport.com or pizza.com. Buying a .me now while still in the landrush gives you a chance to snatch a cool domain before anyone does. Whether you prefer to use it right away for a website or just sit on it and wait for a big dog comapny like CNN to buy the domain from you, it does seem like a worthy investment to buy a .me domain now.
Awesome Tool For Domaining!
I've been shopping around some good domains from godaddy.com and I recently snatched up one Pagerank 6 domain that has expired and was in the close-out sale block. I watched the domain everyday, used several different tools to check if it is worth buying. After 3 days, I finally decided to go for it. Good thing, it was still available.
For a new domainer like myself, it does take awhile to decide which ones to buy because I had to check several things like PR, domain age, backlinks, registry information and some other stuff. What takes minutes to decide might just be enough time for slowpokes like me to lose the chance at a great domain name.
Today as I downloaded the Firefox 3 update, I found the SEOquake.com Firefox add-on which I think is going to make my domaining life a little easier. It is exactly what I had in mind, a "snapshot look" at a domain's credentials like the ones mentioned above. It displays a toolbar that provides search engine index info, Alexa rankings, domain age, the whois info, external links and even keyword density on the page. Every information mentioned opens on a separate tab with one click for more detailed information.
I think this is just a download must for any domainer new or seasoned! Check out the screenshots.
It's really non-obtrusive and I personally think it works better than the SEObook tool I used before. Awesome tool thanks to the SEOquake Team.

Are .ME domains worthy investments?
The .Me domains "landrush" period is ending in roughly 10 days and already thousands have snapped up their very own .me domain ideas. Well, sort of. The dot me domains landrush means everyone and anyone can apply for a domain ending with .me from the World's Largest Registrar - GoDaddy.com. The real juice about the .me domains, according to domaining industry experts and .me domain registry handlers is the branding ability of the top level domain.Recently, high profile companies like Apple have registered multiple .me domain name after snapping up the domain me.com. "News leaks" from inside Apple have revealed that the company is doing some major additions from the Apple iPhone this 2008 and they're building it around the .me domains they've been hording. Microsoft, MTV and BMW are also among the big names that got into this .me domain business and are either securing their trademarks or like Apple, they are making these domains as springboards for the latest stuff.
Going back to the title question, are .me domains worthy investments? At this point in time and to be honest about it, the answer is no. But Apple and so many among the thousands of domainers and companies have thought otherwise. Most of the time, domain investments are speculative. You buy a good domain with the hope and prayers that one day some top-honcho company would buy it from you like ireport.com bought by CNN from this big domaining dude. The guy easily became 750 large richer. You could also be proactive about it and build a business around a .me domain which then could end up sold for a large sum.
Dot me domains, I think a business of "futures." So many domain owners have held on to their prized domains and sold it nth times what they paid for it. If we follow the way of Apple, Microsoft and the rest of the big names in the industry, .me domains is a $99.98 initial investment that can really pan out in the future.
